Nebraska added one baseball trophy this season, while falling short of another.
A 1-2 showing dropped Nebraska out of the Big Ten Tournament, with both losses coming within a 14-hour stretch. NU lost to Iowa 2-0 Friday and then played late into the night before falling to Maryland 8-5.
Those defeats dropped Nebraska to 35-20-1 and to 43rd in the Warren Nolan RPI rankings.
Coach Darin Erstad said he believes his team has done enough to nab a third NCAA Tournament berth in four years.
"I absolutely feel confident, but I don’t make those decisions, so we’ll see Monday," Erstad said.
