Utter's hard work leads to being a Husker captain, and a memorable phone call

Dylan Utter decided to sneak away. Just for a moment. She'd always listened to him in the down times, so she should be the first to hear this, the first to know his picture was going up on that wall they reserve for captains.

Nebraska's senior center, once a walk-on from Papillion who spent his first two years in the program grinding away without playing one game snap, had just learned in a team meeting he was one of four team captains for 2016.

"We've had tons of calls. Not all of them have been this glorious the first few years," Utter said.
