Peers admire Williams' vision, hope and work ethic

The resume for some college coaches say that they built a program, but in many instances there was something there when they got the job, and they just improved it.

When new Nebraska women’s basketball coach Amy Williams became the head coach at Rogers State in 2007, the school in Claremore, Oklahoma, was starting several new athletic programs. Williams was the first women’s basketball coach.

It was her first college head coaching job. She took the program from scratch to an NAIA national contender. Her first team won 13 games, and she kept winning a few more games each season.
