Nebraska did its best to make things more interesting than necessary, but swept a doubleheader over Cal Poly Saturday to wrap up a series win and a 3-2 trip to California.
The Huskers (12-10) won Saturday’s second game 6-4 after heading to the ninth with a 6-1 lead. It was the continuation of a theme throughout a week that saw NU struggle to close out games.
All five games the Huskers played in California – one game Tuesday at Call State Bakersfield and all four games against Cal Poly – weren’t decided until the eighth or ninth innings.
