Huskers still eying No. 10 seed for Big Ten Tourney

Nebraska’s hopes to avoid a play-in game at next week’s Big Ten Conference men’s basketball tournament in Indianapolis are alive and well.

Simply put, if Nebraska (14-16, 6-11 Big Ten) defeats Northwestern (18-11, 6-10) in Sunday’s regular-season finale, the Huskers will be assured of a Thursday first-round game, either as the No. 10 seed or No. 9 seed.

If Nebraska loses to Northwestern, the Huskers will likely be the No. 11 seed, which would mean playing Wednesday in a play-in game against Rutgers, which has already secured the No. 14 seed.

If Penn State loses its remaining two games, to Northwestern and Illinois, and if Illinois loses to Maryland, the Huskers would still secure the No.
