Huskers say 'screw it,' rally against Ohio State behind Alvarado and Schreiber

Luis Alvarado's longest -- and likely his best -- start came at a much-needed time for the Nebraska baseball team.

After navigating through a combined 43 pitches over the first two innings, Alvarado settled in nicely, shutting down a potent Ohio State offense in a career-high 7 2/3 innings and helping Nebraska (14-12, 2-2 Big Ten) to a 7-3 win against the Buckeyes (17-8, 0-1) on Friday at Bill Davis Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

The win marked the Huskers' first Friday win since the second weekend of the season.

It didn't look good early on for the Huskers, who fell behind 3-0 on Nate Romans' two-run blast in the second inning.
