The Nebraska women’s basketball team has received a verbal commitment from a recent high school graduate who will be able to play this season.
Kate Cain, a 6-foot-5 center from Pine Bush, New York, has committed to the Huskers, according to her club team, the Hudson Valley Elite.
She had signed with Delaware in November 2016, but was released from her scholarship after a coaching change in April.
She was a top-100 recruit by several recruiting services, and averaged 25 points per game during her senior season.
“Kate has a really nice touch around the rim and has a really good feel for where the defense is around her,” Martin said.
