Jake Meyers threw seven innings, allowing one run on six hits while striking out four and walking none to improve to 7-1.
Reliever Nate Fisher lasted just one-third of an inning, allowing six runs on six hits. Chad Luensmann came on for Fisher and allowed two more runs on two hits as the Buckeyes turned an 11-1 Husker lead into an 11-9 game.
Brady Cherry then led off the ninth with a single off Luis Alvarado, bringing Ohio State cleanup hitter to the plate as the tying run.
But Alvarado got a flyout from Cherry, then struck out Jacob Barnwell and Bo Coolen to end it.
