Louisiana governor John Bel Edwards recently made some comments about the state's budget crisis that have some concerned about the immediate viability of LSU football. It's unclear how accurate that claim is, given that the athletic department already transfers at least seven million dollars to the school's academic fund annually. The fiscal issues Louisiana faces as a whole are very real, however, so we did some digging through public documents to find out exactly why.
