Sports Briefing | College Sports: Dismissals in Penn State Case Stand

Prosecutors said they would not appeal a ruling that threw out some criminal charges against three former Penn State administrators related to their handling of the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal. The attorney general’s office said it had made the decision after determining that an appeal had little chance of success. A Superior Court decision in January threw out charges of perjury, obstruction and conspiracy. Penn State’s former president Graham Spanier, vice president Gary Schultz and athletic director Tim Curley remain charged with failure to report suspected abuse and endangering the welfare of children.
