Jeff Lockie Replaces Injured Vernon Adams as Oregon's Starting QB

As Vernon Adams continues to deal with a broken finger, Jeff Lockie will start at quarterback for Oregon Saturday against Georgia State.

Aaron Fentress of CSNNW.com confirmed Ducks head coach Mark Helfrich's decision, which comes after Oregon fell to Michigan State last week.

Adams suffered the injury in a Week 1 win over his previous team in the form of Eastern Washington. The senior signal-caller managed to throw for 309 yards against the Spartans, but he also threw two interceptions and was clearly compromised by the ailment.

Although Lockie was beat out by Adams for the starting job, the junior has some experience, as he threw for 207 yards and a touchdown in relief of Marcus Mariota last season.
