Indiana dismisses Emmitt Holt

Following his second alcohol-related incident in less than a year, Emmitt Holt was dismissed from the Indiana basketball program, the university announced on Monday evening.

“Sophomore Emmitt Holt has been dismissed from the men’s basketball program effective immediately for demonstrating exceptionally poor judgment in the circumstances surrounding his recent citation, particularly coming after his involvement in the Devin Davis accident which should have motivated him to make better decisions,” read a statement from the athletic department.

The early hours of Friday, Aug. 21, Holt and Thomas Bryant, Tom Crean’s prize recruit in the Class of 2015, were cited illegal possession of alcohol.
