5.) Bryce Love - RB Stanford

The Stanford Cardinals almost lost the week before to Oregon State because Love didn't play. Love came back against Washington State and rushed for 69 yards and scored a touchdown. His effort was enough to get the win against the Cougars. He continues to be the focal point of this offense and leads college football in rushing yards.

4.) Jalen Hurts - QB Alabama

He makes the list after another impressive week leading the Alabama offense. Hurts threw for 183 yards and one touchdown but also added 44 rushing yards and a touchdown against SEC rival LSU. Hurts continues to show he is in total command of the best team in college football.

3.) Jonathan Taylor - RB Wisconsin

Taylor went full beast mode against Indiana this week. He had 183 rushing yards and one touchdown. He continues to shoulder the offense for Wisconsin. This season Taylor has 12 touchdowns, 1,368 rushing yards and has scored a touchdown in eight of nine games.

2.) Saquon Barkley - RB  Penn State

Barkley drops from one to two because Penn State has lost two games in a row. Barkley has failed to get over 100 total yards from scrimmage the last two weeks and it resulted in two losses. He is still the best running back in the country but doesn't deserve to be number one since the guy at the top was so special this past week.

1.) Baker Mayfield - QB  Oklahoma

Mayfield threw for 598 yards, five touchdowns, two interceptions and even rushed for a touchdown in their win over Oklahoma State. Oklahoma is arguably the best offense in all of college football and a major reason is Baker Mayfield who now has 33 touchdowns this season. The last three weeks Mayfield has scored 15 touchdowns.
