West Chester University has their own spin on the half-court challenge - students have 25 seconds to make a layup, a free throw, a three-pointer and a halfcourt shot, and anyone who can accomplish this within the time limit receives a $10,000 prize.
Freshman Jack Lavery thought he had beaten the odds after an amazing run at halftime of Saturday's game:

Unfortunately for Lavery, the fine print in a contract he signed before competing cost him the prize. According to the contract:
"I shall have as many opportunities as necessary at each of the first three (3) locations to make a shot; however, no more than ONE (1) attempt may be made at the HALF COURT shot, provided that there is still time left on the shot clock."
The contract also states that anyone who played high school basketball is ineligible for the prize, so Lavery (who played in high school for Hatboro-Horsham High School), technically wouldn't have been paid even if he'd nailed the half-court shot on his first try.
Incredible shot, though. Lavery might not have $10,000, but at least he now has a heck of a viral video floating around the internet.
