Why Adding Dion Waiters Was A Smart Move For The Miami Heat

Waiters’ reasonable salary and explosiveness on the court will be of great help to the Heat

Earlier this week, the Miami Heat signed 24-year-old shooting guard Dion Waiters in free agency. The fourth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft spent the past season and a half on the Oklahoma City Thunder and played two and a half seasons on the Cleveland Cavaliers before that.

Waiters’ deal is worth $5.93 million over two years and includes a player option for the second season. This contract alone makes the acquisition of the Syracuse product a great move by the Heat organization.
