Tracy McGrady is often remembered for his lack of playoff success, but his legacy should be more than that.

Grant Hill, Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway, Brandon Roy, Greg Oden. These are some of the names we think of when talking about the great “what-if” players of the NBA; the players whose extremely promising careers were derailed by injury, keeping them from reaching their full potential.

But one player that does not always come to mind in this discussion is Tracy McGrady. That’s because, unlike the aforementioned players who were just beginning to establish themselves as stars or never even got the chance to do so, McGrady was undoubtedly a superstar.
