Pelicans to acquire Bulls' Mirotic, sources say

The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to trade center Omer Asik, guards Tony Allen and Jameer Nelson and a protected 2018 first-round pick to the Chicago Bulls for forward Nikola Mirotic, a second-round pick and the rights to trades second round picks in the 2021 NBA draft, league sources tell ESPN.

The Bulls are expected to waive Allen and Nelson, the sources said.

New Orleans agreed to guarantee Mirotic's $12.5 million option in the 2018-19 season, clinching the deal, the sources said.

The first-round pick has "minimal" protections, the sources said.
