The Los Angeles Police Department says there is an active criminal rape investigation against New York Knicks guard Derrick Rose.
In a letter obtained by ThinkProgress.org, the LAPD detective in charge of the case wrote a letter to the unnamed accuser's attorney attempting to clear up any notion that Rose is not under investigation.
Detective Nadine Hernandez says that the accuser maintaining her anonymity “is an invaluable investigative aid to investigators" and adds the LAPD intends to maintain that anonymity throughout the criminal investigation.
Rose has not been criminally charged in the case.
