After an underwhelming tournament in Rio, it’s time for a youth movement in Olympic basketball.
The US men just prevailed yet again in Rio, winning their third consecutive Olympic Gold Medal and sixth in the past seven opportunities. But, this one was different.
Different in that this team didn’t feel like an Olympic team. Sure, Kevin Durant is one of the top three players in the NBA, and Carmelo Anthony is the highest-scoring Olympic basketball player of all time, but this roster didn’t feel like it represented the pinnacle American basketball.
