Is This Ricky Rubio’s Rickenaissance?

Ricky Rubio is having the best month of his career so far this March. He’s scoring at a rate previously thought not possible for the pass-first guard, while maintaining all of the qualities that make him invaluable to a young Minnesota Timberwolves squad. The recent turn has many wondering if the answer to the Wolves’ point guard question has been right in front of them, for things were not always so sunny up north for the Spanish magician.

When he entered the league, Rubio was fun; he had flash, flare, joy. He had the boyish smile, the hype from playing in the 2008 Olympics gold medal game for Spain as a precocious 17-year-old, and of course, the dazzling court vision and passing ability.
