Nykea Aldridge, cousin of Chicago Bulls star Dwyane Wade, was shot and killed Friday afternoon on Chicago’s South Side, the guard confirmed on Twitter.
The death comes just one day after Wade participated in an ESPN Undefeated town hall discussion with other athletes and media members about gun violence in the United States.
Aldridge, 32, was pushing a baby in a stroller around 3:30 p.m. when two men approached a man in the vicinity and opened fire. Aldridge was caught in the crossfire and struck in the head and arm, according to police.
