The Capital has learned that Navy men's lacrosse assistant coach Michael Phipps will be leaving the program to take the same position at Georgetown.

Phipps just completed his fourth season at Navy, where he worked primarily with the offense. The Annapolis native and Severn School graduate will be joining the staff of head coach Kevin Warne at Georgetown.

Phipps played attack at Maryland while Warne was the defensive coordinator there and later worked alongside him while serving as Director of Lacrosse Operations at his alma mater.
