Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo summed it best during the American Athletic Conference weekly football teleconference on Monday.
Niumatalolo said it felt good to go into the first off week of the season undefeated while still having plenty of improvement to make.
Niumatalolo also used the word fortunate on a couple ccasions when talking about Navy starting 3-0. The Midshipmen had to dig deep to pull out a pair of conference wins, using a last-second goal-line stand to edge Connecticut, 28-24, then mounting a game-winning touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter to get past Tulane, 21-14.
