Navy track and field sweeps IC4A championships for the first time in program history

Clayton Thompson and Molly Mangan once again led the way as the Navy track and field programs swept the IC4A Championships for the first time in program history this weekend in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Thompson was chosen as Co-Performer of the Meet after winning the 110- and 400-meter hurdles. The senior from Corpus Christi, Texas, posted the second-best time in Navy history (13.8 seconds) in the 110 then clocked the fifth-fastest time in the 400 (51.64 seconds).

Eric Hughey (400-meter dash, 46.99 seconds), Baynes Autrey (decathlon, 6,833 points) and Jack Haller (pole vault, 16-feet, 8-inches) were the other individual winners for the Navy men’s team, which amassed 191 points to take first out of 32 teams.
