Navy defensive end Amos Mason often credited his wrestling background for his success on the football field. The 6-foot-1, 266-pounder said the principles of leverage, footwork and hand-to-hand combat he learned on the mat served him well when doing battle with larger offensive linemen.

Mason is returning to wrestling following a successful career with the Navy football program. He began working out with the Navy wrestling team when the Brigade of Midshipmen returned to the academy for the spring semester.

"We're excited that Amos has taken the opportunity to help our team. First and foremost, I know he's going to add competitiveness in the practice room," Navy head coach Joel Sharratt said.
