Nashville Predators’ Pekka Rinne Named Vezina Trophy Finalist

Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne has been named as a finalist for the Vezina Trophy for the league’s best goaltender, the team announced Friday night. Carey Price of the Montreal Canadiens and Devan Dubnyk of the Minnesota Wild also received nominations.

This is Rinne’s third nomination for the award in his career, having lost the award to the Bruins’ Tim Thomas in 2011, and the Rangers’ Henrik Lundqvist in 2012. He missed out on the Awards festivities in the lockout-shortened season of 2013, and his injury-ridden 2013-14 campaign.

Rinne finished the regular season tied for second in wins amongst goaltenders at 41, as well as third in GAA at 2.
