Joni Ikonen was injured on May 28 during a regular practice with KalPa, and has required surgery to repair what KalPa describes as a ”lower body injury.“

The recovery time for Ikonen is expected to be six months, after the surgery was performed in Kuopio. Ikonen will travel to Montreal for rehabilitation for a few weeks at the end of June, which likely coincides with when he would have come for the team’s development camp.

Joni Ikonen was drafted by Montreal Canadiens in the second round (58th overall) in the 2017 NHL draft.
