Canadiens vs. Lightning second period thread

The Habs powerplay almost connected early to put them up 1-0. Lars Eller was robbed by Ben Bishop's glove on a one-timer set up by Nathan Beaulieu with the powerplay ticker down to nine seconds.

The Habs kept on coming, with David Desharnais all fired up in his 400th career NHL game and driving to the net, nearly scoring once before putting home a rebound created by a shot from the point by Alexei Emelin who got a secondary assist on the goal.

The Habs seemed to spending most of the time in Tampa's zone before Greg Pateryn took a hooking penalty late in the first period allowing the Lightning to pour on the pressure and go from trailing 12-9 in shots to leading 14-12 by the time the period was over.
