What Caused Charles Oliveira To Stop Fighting Against Max Holloway?

What in the world caused Charles Oliveira (pictured) to stop fighting after just the first exchange with Max Holloway Sunday at UFC Fight Night 74?

After being taken directly to the hospital following the first round TKO loss, it was determined Oliveira suffered a micro tear in his esophagus.

“It was revealed the Oliveira suffered a micro tear in his esophagus. He is likely to remain in the hospital until Tuesday,” the UFC expressed in Monday’s brief statement.

The esophagus is a muscular tube connecting the throat to the stomach.

After getting stuffed on a takedown attempt, Oliveira’s left arm appeared to twist in an awkward direction.
