With Grand Sumo’s September basho right around the corner, USA Sumo announced earlier this week that the 2021 US Sumo Open will be held on October 2nd at the Terasaki Budokan Center in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, California.
US Sumo Open Returns
With the return of the US Sumo Open, fans will have a new venue. The tournament’s traditional venue, the Walter Pyramid that seats about 5,000, is yet to allow large-scale events in light of Covid-19. The tournament’s new venue, the Terasaki Budokan Center, has an approximate capacity of 1,000.
