UFC Welterweight Viscardi Andrade Suspended 2 Years for Anti-Doping Violation

UFC welterweight Viscardi Andrade has been suspended for two years by USADA for an anti-doping violation stemming from an out-of-competition urine test collected on March 7, 2016.

Andrade tested positive for stanozolol and its metabolites, 16βu2010hydroxyu2010stanozolol and 3’u2010hydroxyu2010stanozolol, which are banned substances in the category of anabolic agents. Andrade’s two-year suspension began on March 20, 2016, one day after a unanimous decision victory over Richard Walsh at UFC Fight Night 85 in Brisbane, Australia.

“Per the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, an Anti-Doping Policy Violation occurring during, or in connection with, a bout may, upon the decision of UFC, lead to disqualification of all the athlete’s results obtained in that bout,” the USADA statement read.
