In the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Anderson vs. Manuwa in London, England, Icelandic welterweight submission specialist Gunnar Nelson used his striking to set up a slick guillotine win over Alan Jouban. It’s the sixth submission win for Nelson in his UFC career, and the twelfth of his overall career.
Jouban fired off a hard leg kick in the opening seconds. Nelson closed the distance and worked for a takedown but couldn’t complete it. Nelson rushed in behind his strikes and changed levels for a takedown. Jouban did well to scramble back to his feet for a moment, but Nelson got him to the mat and into side control.
