At Bellator 142 back in September, former UFC light heavyweight contender Phil Davis made his Bellator debut by participating in the their light heavyweight grand prix. That night Davis defeated Emanuel Newton and went on to fight Francis Carmont in the final of the tournament. Davis scored a highlight-reel knockout over Carmont to become the tournament winner.
Now, two fights later and having defeated the champion, Davis is getting ready for his first title defense against recent signee Ryan Bader. Both fighters, who already fought once back in the UFC, will battle once again in the main event of Bellator 180.
