Just 11 days before its scheduled date, WSOF 27 suffered a big blow to its main event.
Lightweight Mike Ricci (11-4), who was expected to face Caros Fodor (10-4) in the night's marquee bout, suffered a hip injury and was forced to withdraw. Stepping into his place at the Jan. 23 event in Memphis is Blackzilian Luiz Firmino (18-6).
"Our entire team wishes Mike Ricci a full and speedy recovery, and hopes to see him return soon," said WSOF President Ray Sefo in a press release.
