LFA begins its first international voyage tonight with LFA 111, happening live from the Upper Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Any time that an MMA promotion sets foot in a new country is a big deal, and is a testament to the promotion’s success. Tonight’s event is the first of two this weekend, with LFA 112 coming on Sunday.
The main event of LFA 111 brings together two young lightweight prospects formerly of the Shooto promotion. Since a 2014 loss to current UFC contender Renato Moicano, 25 year old “Marreta” Ismael Bonfim has rattled off eight wins in a row.
