The bout -- which went down inside The Smoothie King Center from New Orleans, Louisiana -- saw Poirier put on a striking clinic on the Hawaiian, who proved to be tough as nails after absorbing one blow after another without going out.
Eventually, Dustin proved to be too much for Yancy, who was eventually saved by the referee after he decided he had seen enough of Poirier's fists connect cleanly on the ever-durable challenger's face and witnessing him get dropped multiple times in two minutes.
