Following frightening news that Charles Oliveira had suffered a micro-tear to his esophagus against Max Holloway Aug. 23 at UFC Fight Night “Holloway vs. Oliveira” in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the 25-year-old Brazilian has been released from the hospital.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship issued an update on the fighter’s condition:
“UFC featherweight Charles Oliveira has been released from medical care in Saskatoon today and will be traveling home tomorrow. Preliminary test results for major chest, neck or throat injuries were negative and Oliveira will have a follow up appointment with his local physician upon returning home.
