Aleksander Emellianenko Arrested on DUI Charges in Russia, Upcoming Fight Canceled

Aleksander Emelianenko was arrested in Russia over the weekend on DUI charges after crashing into two vehicles while trying to evade police.

According to reports from Russian news outlets (translation via Bloody Elbow), the younger brother of heavyweight legend Fedor Emelianenko allegedly locked himself in his golden Mercedes and attempted to avoid escape law enforcement after parking his vehicle illegally. Emelianenko crashed into two vehicles during the incident and was eventually detained.

The 37-year-old Russian fighter was then taken to a police department in Kislovodsk and charged with DUI, evading arrest and insulting a government official.
