Well, the end of a long, arduous road is here. D.C. United, somehow, some way, are in the 2018 playoffs. They secured their place in the postseason with a 3-1 victory over fellow Eastern playoff hopefuls, New York City FC. They can now rest easy.
Two goals from Wayne Rooney and one from the brilliant Luciano Acosta were enough for D.C., as they waltzed past a formerly great side to confirm themselves as one of the hottest and most dangerous teams in MLS as the playoffs loom.
