Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton paid tribute to former Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez, who died when a boat that he owned crashed along a jetty and flipped the boat last weekend.
“I wanted to say a few words about the tragic passing of Jose Fernandez,” Clinton said. “You know when he left Cuba, he did not speak a word of English. He did not let that stop him. He pursued his dreams. He wanted to and he became one of the best baseball players that Miami has ever seen and he never forgot where he came from.
