The Mariners’ new-look roster is exceeding expectations this season.
The Seattle Mariners were in disarray when Jerry DiPoto took over as the team’s General Manager late last September. At that point, the Mariners were just days away from finishing the 2015 season 10 games under .500 and in fourth place in the American League West.
There were more questions than answers, and while DiPoto offered some direction for a misguided Mariners franchise, many in the baseball circuit were skeptical of ownership’s decision to bring in the former Angels’ executive.
But that was then, and this is now.
