Kershaw sharp in rehab start, allows 1 hit in 3 IP

RANCHO CUCAMONGA -- Clayton Kershaw made his return to the mound Saturday night at LoanMart Field starting for the Dodgers' Single-A affiliate.

Kershaw struck out five batters in three innings, allowing one hit and no runs on 34 pitches and 23 strikes.

After the outing, Kershaw said he should be ready as early as next week for the Dodgers.

"I think I'm pitching in four or five days. I think we're ironing some stuff out, but at this point it's more of a pitch count deal."
