Red Sox Waiting On J.D. Martinez
According to Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald, the Boston Red Sox are waiting to commit resources to fill team needs until free agent outfielder J.D. Martinez makes a decision on his future.

Martinez is rumored to be looking for a contract worth roughly $200 million and since Boston believes they are the favorite to sign him, it isn't surprising to see them saving their resources.

Last season for the Detroit Tigers and Arizona Diamondbacks, Martinez hit .303 with 45 home runs driving in 104 RBIs in 119 games.

Carlos Gonzalez Latest
MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports the Colorado Rockies aren't confident about their chances to re-sign free agent outfielder Carlos Gonzalez. Rockies general manager Jeff Bridich was asked about Gonzalez at a press conference on Friday and described him as "part of the market."

Gonzalez struggled last season, hitting only 14 home runs with 57 RBIs and a .262 batting average over 136 games. Coors Field is a hitter-friendly ballpark, so these numbers are concerning. With so many other teams interested in the nine-year veteran, it isn't too surprising to see the Rockies let him test the open market.

Brian Dozier And Twins Not Talking
Minnesota Twins second baseman Brian Dozier is entering the final year of his contract, and according to Sid Hartman of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Twins and Dozier haven't talked about a contract extension.

Dozier will be 30 years old once he becomes a free agent after the 2018 season. Last season, he hit .271 with 34 home runs, 97 RBIs, and stole 16 bases in 152 games. He won his first career Gold Glove in 2017 and is arguably the second-best second baseman in the league behind 2017 AL MVP Jose Altuve.
