So much was made of the Cubs offseason transactions. There was more hype, hope, and anticipation surrounding the team than there had been in seven or eight years. This will be the year Cubs fans thought, or at least the playoffs. Mostly thought, fans just wanted to see improvement from last years’ team. It was clear that the front office was improving the product on the field and signing Jon Lester, Dexter Fowler, Jason Hammel, and Joe Maddon would make a difference. So far, it has.
