2014 Question for Each MLB Team: AL Central

The AL Central is always a tight battle until the end of the season. Year after year this division seems to produce a team that contends deep into the postseason. Let's look at a question each team must answer to be relevant in 2014:

Chicago White Sox

Question: Will the White Sox be able to produce a winning season?

The White Sox infield is definitely one that is in the works, and the situation will be fluid for at least half of 2014. Adam Dunn and Paul Konerko will have both have to contribute at least some at first base, and a lot of the pieces of the infield will have to be moved around if the White Sox have any injury issues. Chris Sale is about the only attractive name in the White Sox rotation, so the 2014 season should be an interesting one.

Cleveland Indians

Question: How far will the Indians be able to ride their offense?

Terry Francona has a good offensive team in Cleveland that is frequently overlooked. The Indians are still trying to find some concrete answers dealing with their rotation, but at least they have an ace in Justin Masterson that will be able to grind out a lot of innings. I wouldn't be surprised to see this team remaining relevant deep into the season.

Detroit Tigers

Question: Will the Tigers find a way to win the World Series?

Detroit has all the pieces, with a high-flying offense and extremely efficient pitching, but they can never seem to win it all. The Tigers will be back in contention this season, again boasting a great offense and a terrific rotation. Miguel Cabrera will be looking to try to win another Triple Crown.

Kansas City Royals

Question: Will the Royals be able to remain relevant?

The Royals have a lot more offensive talent than people realize this season. If they are able to keep games close and let Greg Holland shut teams down late in games, the Royals will be able to hang with any club in the league. If the team can improve its focus and commit less than last season's 85 errors, they will have a significant chance of keeping games close.

Minnesota Twins

Question: What's going to produce wins for the Twins?

This lineup and pitching staff is riddled with question marks. The Twins will have to virtually come out of nowhere to be relevant in this division. It will be interesting to see how Joe Maurer handles the transition into the field, but it's not going to be anything that will make this team relevant.
