COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri football is hitting the road this weekend for a different kind of fall camp exercise intended to exorcise some of the Tigers’ shortcomings from a year ago.
The Tigers will leave Columbia and head to the St. Louis area Friday and spend the night in a team hotel before participating in a private walkthrough at Lindenwood’s stadium on Saturday.
Lindenwood won’t be involved, and Mizzou won’t be scrimmaging itself. The important parts of the trip are the logistics and the experience.
In a nutshell, it’s a mock road game.
Coaches scheduled the trip “so everybody on the team knows what to expect when they travel: what that Friday before the game is going to look like, what that Saturday morning leading up to the game is going to look like,” special teams coach Erik Link said.
