Razorbacks grab early lead on Mizzou

UPDATED, 2:30 p.m.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. • Twelve plays for 24 yards. That was the extent of Missouri’s offense in the first quarter Friday at Razorback Stadium. Arkansas took a 7-0 lead on the final play from scrimmage of the quarter on Alex Collins’ 4-yard touchdown run up the middle, finishing off a 53-yard scoring drive. The Razorbacks’ opening two drives failed to pick up a first down and netted minus-5 yards on six plays.

Missouri wasn’t much better as its first four possessions ended with Corey Fatony punts. The freshman needs two more punts to match Mizzou’s single-season record of 79 punts set by Jason Smith in 1995.
