After traveling to Knoxville, the Tigers were officially done with the gauntlet of their schedule, and began a run of winnable series against SEC opponents. Against Kentucky, things looked bleak after Thursday night, but a dominant pitching performance on Friday followed up by an improbable comeback on Saturday allowed the Tigers to take the series against the Cats.

To say things could’ve started better for the Tigers in this series would’ve been an understatement. When Torin Montgomery hit a 3-run bomb in the bottom of the first to give Mizzou a 3-2 lead, things looked briefly promising, but that was the only bright spot all night for the Tigers.
