COLUMBIA, Mo. • Some of the more successful college football coaches in America have no answer for the most vexing question to face college sports.

How will the upcoming bigger payments to college athletes change the game?

In January, the five power conferences voted to allow their schools to pay athletes beyond their athletic scholarships to cover the full cost of attending college. Decided by financial aid departments based on student polling and federal regulations, the new numbers vary from school to school.
