Zach Howell was on a tour at Northwest Missouri State when he received a text message saying that the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee was interested in him.
It had been a long, stressful recruiting process for one of the elite players in southwest Missouri the last few seasons who had always dreamed of playing at the Division I level. All he needed was a chance.
A few days after, Howell was on a plane to Milwaukee. After touring the facilities and sitting down with the head coach, Howell's dreams became a reality when he was offered a scholarship.
